FV at the STONE!!

April 30 – May 3, 2025

I am over the moon to be back at the Stone in NYC for a run of experimental shows at the iconic Stone, curated by the one and only John Zorn. Honored to curate days of shows that are familiar and new to me. Opening up possibilies for explorations each night. I hope you’ll join us!

Night ONE – JEAN

JEAN is a project of composed words and new frameworks. I started this work in 2022, premiering a WIP version on the Arts for Arts InGarden Series with Lesley Mok and Liany Mateo on double bass. I expanded the work and had a run in September 2024 on vocalist/composer’s Shara Lunon’s at Sisters. This iteration at the Stone features drummer/composer Lesley Mok and trumpeter/composer Chris Williams. The pic shows a portion of the score for JEAN. NIGHT TWO – FLUTTER

Nicole Mitchell + FV at the Jazz Gallery (Jan. 2025)

FLUTTER is a duo project with the incredible Nicole Mitchell on flute and electronics! We both contribute compositions and for this iteration at the Stone, I bring out electronics as well. Thursday, May 1st, 2025 8:30PM $20 at the door

NIGHT THREE – WINDWARD DRIFT

To say I’m excited about steelpan, the national instrument of the island nation of Trinidad and Tobago, is an understatement. More importantly, this is a moment when going back to my earliest musical memories of those sister islands feels right. This is brand NEW, excites to have guitarist Keyanna Hutchinson and panist Lyndon Achee come together and join me in song and sonic explorations. Friday, May 2, 2025 8:30PM $20

NIGHT FOUR – GRAPHIC QUARTET

My Final night at the Stone is a super exciting quartet featuring Karen Borca(bassoon), Lester St. Louis (cello) and Reggie Nicholson (drums, percussion)and yours truly. I’m calling it the Graphic Quartet as it will be the first time I’ll present my compositions as Graphic scores. I’ve been creating scores for awhile now, ready to try a few of them on stage, Saturday, May 3, 2025 8:30PM $20
