What can I say this has been some year! So much has happened and I’ll talk much more about that and what’s coming for 2010 early in the New Year. With Thanksgiving just behind us and the end of the year approaching, I’m feeling a bit wistful and downright grateful so I’m taking a moment to thank ALL of you for your support, well wishes and love. I simply couldn’t do what I try to do best without the support and feedback of many of you.
I wish you the best for a glorious holiday season and start of a new decade!
There are a few exciting things happening in the city this month that you may want to check out as well…
This coming Sunday, DECEMBER 6th, guitarist Anders Nilsson and myself (as the ExPosed Blues Duo) will perform twice in town – all during daylight hours. Starting at 2:00PM, we’ll take part in the Keep the Rhythm in the Kitchen!! A Benefit For the Hell’s Kitchen Cultural Center, Inc. + for the Rhythm in the Kitchen Festival. This is a great cause and any support you can give for the festival is welcome. On tap for Sunday will be lots of music and other surprises. Guests include Michael Marcus, Ellery Eskelin, Steve Swell, Neal Kirkwood, Michael TA Thompson, Reut Regev & Judith Insell. It starts at 2:00 but the benefits runs until 6:00PM.
We’ll perform a short set near the beginning of the program and then immediately head uptown to perform as part of The Open Shoppe’s Winter Art Performance Party. Held yearly and hosted by alto saxophonist and all around cool person Saco Yasuma, this party features an exhibition, jewelry , CD’s and music for a full weekend of art and performance. Get in touch here if you’d like to attend and want more information. Anders and I will do a 45 minute set around 4:00PM.
My last performance for 2009 will take place fittingly at the 55Bar with The Jazz Vault Project on DECEMBER 23rd for the Early Set. Plus – there are some new vids up on the site! If you’re reading this, just scroll on down and check the new out on the video player.
Many thanks once again + Happy Holidays!
