Welcome to a Hot Stone Summer

Dear Friends!

Warm greetings from a finally dry day (so far) here in Brooklyn, NY on the second day of summer.

The normal Fay Victor.com website will be down temporarily for a major revamp but with a new record about to drop and some amazing things up and coming, there’s no way I can’t keep folks informed, if you want to be informed in all that’s going on…

The new site will be up in a few weeks but for now, come here to get all the news and the happenings with your lady in strange…check the NEWS page for upcoming gigs, MEDIA page if you need some press ready info and photos; visit the TEACHING page for my views on that subject plus what’s on offer and more.

Upcoming Performances:

My next performance in town will be the 55Bar with Anders Nilsson working our ExPosed Blues Duo material.  Come out for the fun next week Tuesday evening for the early set.  Here’s the info you need below:

And then what?

I never thought you’d ask. July and August will see me in The Stone for the first time as a bandleader, presenting three completely different projects including incredible players such as Roswell Rudd, Tyshawn Sorey and Tomas Ulrich plus the Fay Victor Ensemble makes its Stone debut on July 15th and  we’ve been asked to do our first party! Full itinerary and details on the NEWS page.

In September 2009, The Fay Victor Ensemble’s The FreeSong Suite will be released on my Greene Ave Music label, represented by Scott Menhinick at Improvised Communications and as a matter of fact, Scott is now, officially, my exclusive media contact.  How cool is that? I am thrilled.  Some tracks from The FreeSong Suite is up on the myspace page. Comments are welcome, of course.

Exciting times indeed.  So glad to live in this city, chock full of inspiration and silly stories.  And sometimes I turn those stories into songs. I’m also glad that you’re reading this.  If you are. Of course.

More soon…
